Join us in redefining the future of wellbeing! THE OPPORTUNITY We are hiring a Senior Backend Engineer to our Integrations team in Brazil.

This is a Remote – Brazil position, meaning you can work from anywhere within the country.

Please note that this role is only open to candidates in Brazil.

As an engineer, you will be responsible for developing highly scalable services and ensuring best software engineering practices are followed.

You will have opportunities to participate in architectural decisions, suggest improvements, and interact with the product team and other stakeholders in a collaborative agile environment.

As a senior developer, you are expected to design highly scalable systems from scratch, deliver with minimal guidance, become an expert in the business rules and architecture of our complex environment, and mentor less experienced developers.

As part of the Integrations team, you will design and build scalable APIs, manage the integration process between Wellhub and partners (Club Management Systems), and implement new features at the Partners Portal.

This team works on products such as booking and access control APIs; for example, all bookings at Wellhub use this API.

Perform insightful pull-request reviews and build reusable code for future use Be data-driven and participate in and/or lead architectural decisions, share improvement opportunities, bring innovation, and keep design docs up to date Interact with product team and stakeholders to influence the business Ensure successful deliveries and promote long-term technical health of our journeys Take ownership of critical features, accountable and proactive in following up engineering and product KPIs Maintain high code quality standards, ensuring developers are proud of their work Provide technical guidance for your team, spreading development best practices such as code review, pair programming, and TDD; eager to learn and share knowledge Mentor less experienced developers Participate in incident resolution and production troubleshooting Live the mission: promote wellbeing in the workplace and create a supportive environment where colleagues feel comfortable taking care of themselves WHO YOU ARE A true team player who works toward both team and individual goals with experience in web development Experience designing and developing complex modern web applications Experience with at least two programming languages such as Go, Scala, Kotlin, or Java Experience with SQL/NoSQL technologies (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, DynamoDB, Redis) and understanding performance considerations Experience with event-driven architectures and message brokers (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ, SNS) and understanding their use cases Experience implementing prototypes and in practices like MVP, A/B testing, and feature toggles for production rollout Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, problem-solving, and complex analysis Experience with monitoring, observability, and KPI tracking Experience with microservices and high-volume distributed systems Experience with cloud-based architectures in AWS Strong communication skills in English and Portuguese Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively Self-starter who can multi-task and adapt to a fast-growing organization Enjoys working on multiple priorities and projects Tenacious and goal-oriented WHAT WE OFFER YOU With thoughtful benefits, emotional wellbeing resources, and a culture that empowers you to take ownership of your role and wellbeing, we create an environment where you can thrive in all dimensions of your life.
